Day tour of the Winelands of the Cape

Visiting the winelands of the Western Cape is an experience most visitors will not forget. After an early morning pickup (around 8.30 am) from your hotel we head out to Stellenbosch along the N1 highway.

Our wine tour will take us to Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl three of a number of wine growing areas in the Cape. In each district we will visit a wine vineyard for a wine tasting. Included in the day trip is a cellar tour on one of the wine estates where visitors are shown the intricacies of wine making. Our first wine tasting of the day is at a farm in the Stellenbosch/Kuilsriver district where on arrival we will find a table laid with wine tasting glasses awaiting us.

After tasting a number of South African wines our happy bunch of tourists cannot wait for the drive through the historic village of Stellenbosch where a short tour is undertaken.

Leaving Stellenbosch we make our way over Helshoogte pass to our next stop in Franschhoek for lunch ( no doubt a number of bottles of wine are consumed at lunch) before our second planned wine tasting of the day.

After struggling onto our coach after lunch we take a leisurely drive through the Drakenstein valley and the historic old Paarl village before reaching our final destination where we enjoy the last wine tasting of the day. The estate we normally visit has some awesome views and good wines to enjoy. After a spectacular day in the winelands of the Western Cape our now truly happy bunch of wine lovers will be returned to their respective hotels in Cape Town.
